reputation

What do people think of you, do you care or don’t you worry.

A reputation we all have one, people form opinions of all of based on our behavior, personality or abilities. Our personality can form our reputation.

There are measures around that try to put you in different pigeon holes. One of the measures used when I worked in the bank was divided into four quadrants;

I for individuals types, S for the socialite type, D for dominate types and C for clerical types.

As a christian what should we be, is there any wrong types. We are called to servant hood, so I suppose we should be according to this system, a lot of S so we get along with people, and some C so we know what we are doing and why.

There are many systems out there and the world would be trying to evaluate us all by one of them. Basic fact however God loves us no matter what we are.

A good reputation will help us make friends, people always want to be around good people, just as a bad reputation people would want to keep away from.

The Bible encourages us to build our reputations on solid character rather than what we look like. Proverbs 22 verse 1;

” Choose a good reputation over great riches, being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.”

The first thing about our reputation should be bringing honor to Our Lord and Our Friend. 1 Peter 2 verse 12;

“They will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God.”

Luke 6 verses 44 and 45;

v44 “A tree identified by it fruit, v45 a person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart.”

We have spoken on the Fruit of the Spirit in an earlier blog. You can imagine an ambassador has to be of a good reputation, because they represent their country, otherwise people may think poorly of that country.

We are follower of Christ Jesus, and are all ambassadors, because His Kingdom, we represent is not of this world. The King we represent is THE KING OF KINGS.

Our Lord and King has shown us the way. He has given us the gifts to build character. He told us the fruits we need to bring forth. He has given us garments to put on Isaiah 6 verse 10.

“I greatly rejoice in the Lord, I exult in my God for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness.”

He has given us a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

He knows your needs Mathew 6 verse 31 to 33.

Let everything we do be done to glorify Our Lord and Our friend.

God Bless.
